Recorded Webinar: The Cicero API – Next Election's New Districts

On Wednesday, June 27, the Cicero API team hosted “The Cicero API: Next Election’s New Districts,” a webinar that provided users with a glimpse into how people are using the Cicero API’s latest dataset – newly redistricted legislative boundaries that are not yet in effect.

Why offer district matching for district boundaries that are not yet in effect? In order to make sure our clients are using the most accurate and up to date data as possible, we began collecting the new districts as soon as they are approved by each state. By doing this, we are able to offer our clients the ability to begin district matching to “future” legislative districts before they take effect. By matching to these districts they are able to inform constituents about which districts they will be voting in in the upcoming election.  The webinar covers several powerful, real-world use cases in which clients are using both the current and newly redistricted district matching features.

A recording of the webinar is available below.  If you have any questions about the Cicero API or the redistricted legislative district dataset, please contact me at afretz@azavea.com or read more about the dataset here: https://www.azavea.com/products/cicero/features/data/redistricted-boundary-data/
