In early 2019, WHYY published a report on water quality within the Delaware River Watershed. The report was designed to inform and engage the public regarding the water quality of their local streams and the ability to swim or fish within these waterways. The work helps the public to understand the causes of waterway impairment and how this varies throughout the watershed.

Azavea generated an interactive map to help visualize these results. The initial version of the map contained data only for Pennsylvania and New Jersey because data for Delaware was not yet available. More recently, that data was released, and WHYY worked with Azavea to update the map.
