On the Cicero team, we work with clients to match address data to legislative districts and elected officials. Our API takes an address, geocodes it, then returns legislative district and elected official contact information. For clients who don’t have the expertise to set up an API, we offer a web-based tool called District Match. This tool enables users to upload a spreadsheet of addresses. Our API does the work behind the scenes to match those addresses to districts and officials. Then, it returns the spreadsheet to the user with that information appended.
Since we work with clients to help them use our District Match tool, we often get questions about how to format and clean address data. Of course, accurately matching addresses to districts requires clean and properly formatted address data. And getting address data into a clean format isn’t always easy. But, with years of experience cleaning, formatting, and preparing addresses, we have the expertise to be able to help. We’ll be leading a training session and workshop at the Nonprofit Learning Lab in New York City on Thursday, May 2nd. We invite you to attend, and for a limited time, you can purchase one registration and get another one at 50% off.
