Jessica is a Project Manager for the Urban Applications Team at Azavea.
Prior to joining Azavea, Jessica jumped from museum to museum before spending ten years with the DataArts (formerly the Cultural Data Project), a nonprofit designed to strengthen the arts, culture, and humanities sector’s ability to make data-driven decisions. During her tenure, she did everything from customer support and training, to coordination of the spin-off from The Pew Charitable Trusts. As the Director of Administration and Planning at DataArts, she implemented the organization’s strategic plan and established the first organization-wide evaluation program.
Jessica earned her BA in Anthropology and Near Eastern Studies from NYU and her MA in Museum Studies from San Francisco State University, one of the only American universities with a teaching collection of ancient Egyptian objects.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter, practicing yoga, and acting as the occasional registrar for the Penn Museum’s archaeological dig in Abydos, Egypt.
