Risk Forecasting: Near Repeat Patterns

Near repeat pattern analysis measures the communicability of risk that an incident transfers to nearby locations increasing the likelihood of subsequent incidents in the area. Researched by Dr. Jerry Ratcliffe from Temple University, near repeat patterns are often present in burglaries, thefts, and gun-related crimes.

By analyzing historic incidents to identify the pattern for each crime class, HunchLab then applies the patterns to current incidents to generate an always up-to-date risk landscape for each crime type.   This allows your officers to preemptively deploy resources based on current risk levels across your jurisdiction.
