Equip officers, analysts, and special units with easy-to-use crime mapping and analysis tools through HunchLab. Accessed via a web-browser, users can query incident data, generate and print crime maps, examine trends, and export incident data without specialized GIS skills. Provide secure access to your operational incident databases in a unified interface with intuitive tools.
The early warning components of HunchLab automatically sift through incident data to identify geographic areas with unusual elevations in activity. By employing the geographic data mining functionality within HunchLab, called Hunches, staff can focus on strategically addressing crime outbreaks in specific areas rather than spending time to find where they are occurring. Staff arrive at work with alerts in their inboxes that link to areas with unusual activity, ready for the appropriate intervention.
Prioritizing the deployment of limited resources is not easy. Retrospective hot spot mapping, while useful, does not attempt to forecast future trends and simply assumes that what has happened will likely occur again. In developing HunchLab, we’ve worked with criminologists and statisticians to incorporate leading risk forecasting algorithms enabling your agency to easily use predictive policing concepts based on published academic research.
HunchLab allows your users to securely query CAD/RMS systems to generate interactive, clustered pin-maps without learning a complex query language. Incidents can be filtered by custom geographic area, time of day, date, and classification using the web-based user interface.
