Using the global database underlying its Cicero Web API, Azavea
developed a Gerrymandering Index (GI) based on a series of  compactness metrics for assessing the degree to which thousands of local, state and federal districts might be gerrymandered. The results were compiled in a white paper and interactive web site, RedistrictingTheNation.com.
