From May 30 to June 28, 2009 Peregrine Arts presented Hidden City, a unique arts festival to Philadelphia by bringing the city’s best-unknown historical and architectural landmarks back to life through original works of art. During the festival, performing and visual artists created dance, music, sculpture, video, print, and mixed media pieces inspired by the history and architecture of their selected sites to draw attention back to the important people and places forming Philadelphia.

Azavea was invited to participate in the early stages of the festival preparation because of our geographic expertise of the city. In the process we produced a transit map to help Peregrine Arts determine which hidden places would be the most accessible and make the festival a citywide success.

The transit map is now available to download for free in the Azavea Commons.
