On January 12, 2010, when a disastrous earthquake hit Haiti, an estimated 3 million people got affected and hundreds of thousands of families lost track of their loved ones. Through its “Time Off for Disaster Relief” benefit, Azavea encourages employees to participate in the delivering of relief in the case of a natural disaster. Many of Azavea’s staff members possess technical skills that are often in great need in the aftermath of such events. Josh Marcus did just that by volunteering on the Haitian Earthquake Registry project.
