Azavea (formerly Avencia) employees are encouraged to take on a personal research project (approximately 10% of their work time) that will both be of interest to them and will serve to either extend the scope of the business or provide new resources and tools for the staff.

We are also committed to working on socially redeeming projects that ask (and, we hope, answer) interesting social questions.  Azavea employees are also able to spend their personal research time on pro bono projects. Through these projects, we strengthen our ties to the community and share our geographic analytical expertise with new audiences.
