Tables, Charts and Graphs: See the Forest

Kaleidocade enables you or your constituents to visualize and analyze large amounts of data through a multitude of facets: maps, tables, histograms, scatter plots. Indicators can be ranked, sorted, filtered, and compared to one another or vis-à-vis trends to enable to look for correlative information or patterns in the data. The system automatically returns statistics such as the mean, maximum and minimum, and standard deviation for any of the group of indicators that are being looked at in any given geographic area.

Feature Tour

Scatter Plots

Are there any correlations between indicators in your system? Let users display pairs of indicators as scatter plots and see if there are correlations between the two. Hovering over any point on the plot will identify the area, and clicking on any point will generate a detailed report for that location.

Ranked Lists of Locations

Indicators can be compared at any number of locations. Users can compare up to two indicators by "top ranked location" and "bottom ranked location." Rankings include links to an index/overview map and to a full report of all the indicators available in your system for the locations selected as part of the search parameters.

Histograms and Statistics

The statistics tab provides summary statistics and histograms for any two indicators within the collection.

Histograms can be customized by number and type of class breaks. Depending on the geographic levels included, an optional second histogram can be added for comparison with the distribution at the highest geographic level.

Tables

Show all information on all indicators in your system for all geographic units selected. Table can be customized by sorting any individual indicator in ascending or descending order and by creating a filter for one or more indicators. Additional features include:
  • access to more detailed indicator descriptions
  • trend charts for indicators spanning more than one year
  • overview maps for each geographic unit
  • links to single-area reports for any geographic unit

Filters

Results can be sorted in descending or ascending order and table data can be filtered using min/max.

Trends

Indicators with information for more than one year will display the trend icon. Clicking the icon opens a popup graph showing the trend line for that specific geographic area.

Export Data

For implementations in which the data can be shared, the contents of tables can be exported to Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Comma Delimited Text, XML, SPSS or IXF file formats. Tables can also be exported as a PDF documents.
