Technical Information

Base Map

The background cartography and map data upon which the hot spot maps are displayed use both ArcIMS and ArcGIS Server, OGC WMS-compliant map servers, and includes the option to support other mapping toolkits like Microsoft Virtual Earth and OpenStreetMap. 

Geocoding

DecisionTree has a flexible geocoding interface and can consume geocoding sources based on ESRI ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS.com, Bing Maps or GeoNames.  If you need to use a different service, Please contact us

ArcGIS Desktop Tools

The DecisionTree Toolbox leverages the ArcGIS Geoprocessing Toolbox infrastructure to enable the generation of ESRI GRID files that have a standard set of constraints that include:

  • Cell Size
  • Extent
  • Range of Values (usually 1 to 100)
  • Mask (if desired)
  • NoData value

  • While the DecisionTree web application does not require any desktop applications, the toolbox and conversion tools use ESRI ArcView, ArcEditor or ArcInfo plus the Spatial Analyst extension.  Please contact ESRI to obtain these licenses.
